Camera Motion Control System used in BBC Frozen Earth Series
The Kontrol Freax Aurora camera motion control system was used extensively by the BBC for many of the panned time-lapse shots in the currently-showing BBC Frozen Earth series, narated by David Attenborough. DC Allen provided the system-level design for Aurora as well as all the custom electronics and embedded software. The system was specifically designed to withstand the extreme temperatures and harsh conditions that were to be encountered during shoots lasting many months in the Artic and Antarctic.

RFID System for Reduction of Medication Errors
As part of a recent project, we have developed a RFID-based system for the reduction of medication errors in infusion devices. The system provides pharmacy-to-patient tracking of the IV drug, using an RFID tag in the IV bag, and an RFID reader in the infusion pump. It is envisaged that over 80% of IV drug-related nursing errors can be eliminated by incorporating this design into drug delivery devices.
